Myths: Cults are easy to spot, they wear strange clothes and live in communes. Well some do. But most are everyday people like you and me. They live in houses. They wear the same clothes. They eat the same food. Cult leaders don’t want you to know that you are being recruited into a cult and so they order their recruiters to dress, talk, and act in a way that will put you at ease.
Question: Do men know that they’re in a cult or heading down a cult leader description road? Today: Fads, Trends,& Cliches are dangerous- “We should show love to all men,not in partial or favortism!” -If you quote the word with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding you are accused of being too spiritual -If you do not condone unrighteous judgment you are considered false -People are more attracted to sex topics, relationship, finance, and individualism opposed to God’s Gospel as a Body of people. -Hypocritical Preaching and Belittling others with harsh words -Bulky tactics justified by “I m just telling you what God says in his word!” This is just a few red flags to look out for.
Do not believe that cults are full of weird, weak, and emotinally unstable people. Not true. many cult memebers are very intelligent, attractive, and skilled. The reality is that all sorts of people are involved in cults. One of the few common denominators is that they were often recrutited at a low point in their life. Red Flags: -People who speak of themselves and not of God’s plan for all mankind -Do not give counsel to encourage you to a road of recovery or salvation but of hot topic, juicy gossip, tickling ear conversations -Brag and boast about their social staus -Mind Control tactics -Idolatry, Covetousness, Jealousy-over another man’s success, accuser of the brethern -Manfestations of the works of the flesh according to Galatians 6 -Ask for unreasonable amounts of money especially from the poor, or those that may not be financially stable to support their mission…..Or preach prosperity messages to reap a material blessing…”The flesh into flesh reaps corruption”
Have you been involved or know of someone that was affected by a cult or unethical leadership? If so, elaborate or share with us some of the warning signs or struggles coming out of a cult.
Remember, the Word of God is of freedom to live, breathe, and worship God freely not by condemnation or brim stone and hell messages. God did not design his word for leaders to get rich quick off the saints or to defraud the people of God. It is a leaders reasonble service if he gives up his life, to do the will of God, ordained by God. It is not the people’s responsibility to pay a mans salary. God provides for the ministry he breeds….God’s Word will cleanse us from all unrighteousness. He did not call Leaders to patrol sin, but to help guide the people along the way where they may get stuck on this journey. Leaders have a level of purity to uphold. Many are called but only a few chosen. Pray about your spiritual leaders, and those who impart the living word into your life. Pls share modestly. Thank you, Lisa Fikes
